Bought a new set of 8.5" wide rims and 10.5" wide 4-ply Carlisle turf savers for the back of my '89 416-8.

I have a 42" side discharge deck and the deck wheels rub on the side walls of the tires enough to make a mark.

It's pretty bad with the deck in the "up" position you can see the deck wheels rotating.

Might have to put chains on them and use them with the snow blower.

A little disappointing but they do look great.

Maybe you can adjust the deck mounts a little to find the room you need?

I think if I could find a sholder bolt with loner thread section I could add a couple of washers and gain a 1/4" or so.

I used the standard shoulder bolt and I got 2 semi-thick washers on while still having enough thread to go fully into the nut.

It wasn't enough to clear the tires but I probable got an 1/8" a side, need at lease another 3/8 to 1/2" a side.

I was suprised to hear it was still a problem with a 48" I thought that was my answer.

The rims had craftsman tires on the went I got them. Wanted to keep the wheel base close together because I only have a 42" snow plow. But there is only a half inch between the tire & my tiller belt. I have not had a deck on this tractor since I put the tires on.
