Choke cable needed

Recommended Posts

bo dawg

What is the correct length of the choke cable for an 1982 sk486? I looked up on the toro parts finder and it just has choke controller 106752. I've never bought one new so does it come with a cable?

The cable on it now is good but it has to be a bit too long. It will close the choke but it wont push it open. Linkage is free so that's not the problem, controller is tight, and cable is not slipping any where(check check and check) So it must be due to incorrect length.

I cut mine to size, clip the end of the inner wire pull it back, not out, but back 12" or so, then cut the housing with a cut off wheel, debur the end slide the wire back in figure out how long I want it and cut, I use pliers to put the little S bend back in the end, I have the little tool to do it, but I think I can do better with 2 sets of needle nose.

if you are looking for having a great bend, there is a tool called z-bend pliers, you should be able to get tem from a hobbie shop who sells rc car stuff. but usually cables are one size that needs to be cut down to the right size...but trust me the z-bend pliers are definately worth it!!!
