watercross 0 #1 Posted May 29, 2012 Just got a new 310-8 (out of trash and almost mint - just needed a battery) and it has a rear discharge deck. Tractor at cottage so can not messure it. Are there different size rear discharge decks for this model or just one. If so what size is it? Thanks
Kelly 1,033 #2 Posted May 29, 2012 only 2 RD decks a 36" and a 42" the 36" will only have one roller in the front, the 42" will have 3 rollers one in the middle front and the others out near the sides.
watercross 0 #3 Posted May 29, 2012 Thanks. Then it must be the 42 inch as there are two wheels on the rear behind the deck. That is good.
Kelly 1,033 #4 Posted May 29, 2012 not the wheels, but rollers on the front near the sides, all the WH decks have the rear wheels.
watercross 0 #5 Posted May 30, 2012 then it is most likely 36 inch thanks

watercross 0 #7 Posted June 1, 2012 There is a pic. This baby was just put at the curb. Just needed fresh gas, a left tire and battery. Not one spec of rust. Owner even helped me load it on my trailer. Was grampas and never seen rain.
Duff 206 #8 Posted June 1, 2012 That's a very fine looking machine! A lot of good years left in it, for sure! Duff

watercross 0 #10 Posted June 2, 2012 I found this on Monday night on memorial day at my cottage. Was really excited as I knew it was a real tractor. Did not write the serial number down as I did not know where it was so no idea what year it is. Any idea what year it is? What it is worth and how well does this mower work with a roto tiller attachment? Might get one and try it on some food plots? Is ths 310-8 a good model? I figure the "10" in 310 is the size hp engibe but what is the "-8"?
can whlvr 994 #11 Posted June 2, 2012 the 310 is a very good machine, very popular and trust worthy, the 3is for 300 series,10 for horsepower, and the 8 is for 8 speed transmission, very nice find
Wheel Horse Kid 105 #12 Posted June 2, 2012 Great find there and a great price to boot! I would have to say that it is worth maybe $300-$400. It would do good with a tiller. The 310-8 is a good model of tractor. The 300 series tractors are all very good quality. I have a 312-8 and just love it!
redhorse100 4 #13 Posted June 2, 2012 wow great looking mower and out for the trash!!! again wow some of the stuff i have looked at for 300.00 should have been put in the trash. good luck with it.
Kelly 1,033 #14 Posted June 2, 2012 Yes it will run a tiller, year about mid 80's 85-87 value, if I had it here I would clean it up replace the seat and give it a once over so it ws ready to use and it would sell for $500-600 easy.

608KEB 796 #16 Posted June 3, 2012 Wow, That is a great find. I can't believe it was going to get trashed. What a waste that would've been.
watercross 0 #17 Posted June 3, 2012 I am lucky like that. I was just going to pick it up cause I figured it was worth $300 not running. Know people collect those. These owner said it just needs fresh gas and a battery. Bought the tire and battery. Guess I will have to get a seat too. Debating on a low or high back seat. It really is almost mint except for the tire and seat. I did not even clean it up in the pic. There was not even any wear where your feet go. Will post some more pics of my find.
