Originally I decided to use Rustoleum spray cans because I did not want to spend the money on a good air dryer and spray gun. Now I can see how much more expensive the spray cans are.

My advise to anyone starting resto's is to buy the equipment to use with your compressor. I believe it will pay for its self with around three resto's.

Just an opinion!!

QESTION: What process should I use to spruce up the plastic tube between dash and steering wheel?

I use a product called Back To Black. I can't remember where I got it from but it works very well. Just becareful not to get it on any painted surface, it's about impossible to get off.

I have used automotive back to black type products for vinyl, bumpers and tires.

McGuire's has several. If you don't like it or it doesn't last you can wash it off and paint it.
