FRAM ph16.It has a relieve bypass, same filtration and saturation microns and it screws right on!Fram has a neat little cross refference option on their website.very informative!

can whlvr

if that filter is for the rear end ,do not use a filter that has a bypass, use a hydro filter, not an engine filter as they can open the bypass and let unfiltered fluid into the system

Toro's recommended replacement has a bypass. If you neglect to change the filter it will allow flow with out damaging the pump.I think its a mute point because if you neglect it to that point, shame on you.

I change mine so often at 4.99 a piece It doesn't hurt anything.I suppose I might have to go back to study group and choose a proper path.I have been corrected.

When you cross reference part numbers on the Fram site it gives you PH16.I also cross# Cub cadet 923-3014 JD am-35176 Simplicity 1650954/171439 mtd 727-0162 Bolens 1726450 Wheel Horse 79-5270.25/30 micron 3.79h 3.660 od thread size 3/4-16.All of those hydros use the same filter according to the Fram cross#

You gotta question the source.

Sure those filters will work in this application, doesn't mean they're the best choice...that's all.

I think the new policy was called "Don't ask, Don't tell" ??

Personally I don't use anything Fram, I have seen and heard of too many of their filters causing problems.
