Sparky-(Admin) 23,277 #4 Posted May 23, 2012 They look great Steve. Hows that 16hp Kohler handling that 36" deck ? Mike..........
leeave96 490 #5 Posted May 23, 2012 Very nice. I would add that your lawn looks like it has a golf course cut - looks terrific! Did you mow it with the 36 RD deck on that tractor? I had a 36 RD deck on a C-111 and felt it gave me the best cut of any deck I have owned for a Wheelhorse. Good luck, Bill

Wheelhorse84 87 #7 Posted May 23, 2012 It is a 36 inch rear discharge and I love the way it cuts. I used rust- oleum red. It's actually called regal red
Wheelhorse84 87 #8 Posted May 23, 2012 It took like 7 days for it to dry right.

KC9KAS 4,744 #16 Posted May 24, 2012 "I used rust- oleum red. It's actually called regal red" That is the paint that I use. I painted a plow blade last Friday, and I didn't think it too long to dry...It was hot and very low humidity...great painting weather! I wish I had the equipment and skill to use a paint sprayer....The same paint can be purchased in quarts and gallons at a better price.
Duff 206 #17 Posted May 25, 2012 Nice looking weights! Rustoleum Regal Red - same paint I use on everything (well, except my black frames, wheels, towers, you get the idea!) . It does take a few days to dry, though....... Duff :flags-usa:
SousaKerry 503 #18 Posted May 25, 2012 Posted 23 May 2012 - 05:40 PM It is a 36 inch rear discharge and I love the way it cuts. I used rust- oleum red. It's actually called regal red That's all I use and I love it for the price and ease of use, However it is a soft paint and scratches easily. I have an advantage for drying it we have a hot room at work for aging cups, when it is empty I throw my parts in their for overnight or a weekend temp is like 140F cures it out very nice. varosd 1,185 #20 Posted May 25, 2012 It took like 7 days for it to dry right. sounds crazy but could putting them into a oven and baking them help? ala 'mock' powder coat?
Wheelhorse84 87 #21 Posted May 25, 2012 Didn't think of that.
dandan111 31 #22 Posted May 27, 2012 Regal red, that's my choice also.
Fun Engineer 859 #23 Posted May 29, 2012 What was the original color of the weights? My color flyer for the 1967 series of tractors show them in linen beige, same as the wheels.
Wheelhorse84 87 #24 Posted May 29, 2012 I have a mid 70s catalog and they have them painted red. That's why I chose it and for the fact I think it looks better. I believe the 60's were the beige.
Fun Engineer 859 #25 Posted May 29, 2012 They sure stand out better when painted red.
