tomtractor 71 #1 Posted May 22, 2012 How rare is the Wheel Horse 953?
Sparky-(Admin) 23,281 #2 Posted May 22, 2012 I'm sure plenty of guys on this site have em but they are a somewhat rare tractor built only one year. They are essentially the same as the 1054 which was made in 1964 and seems to be more plentiful. Wheel Horse did not release production numbers so we dont know how many were produced, or how many are left alive. Mike.........
Kelly 1,033 #3 Posted May 23, 2012 Not rare just uncommon, the 1054 was built in 64, and the 1054A but does not say A on the hood was built in 65 so that might be why there is more 1054's
Hammerhead 817 #4 Posted May 23, 2012 My records indicate that the 1054-A was also produced in 1966, which not many people know about that. But the 953 is a pretty rare machine in my opinion, it is also one of my favorite Models, I had one growing up back in the day and it was a big machine for a little kid, I was about 13 or so when Dad turned the keys over to me, thanks Dad! Little did we know it would lead to my large inventory of WH's!! When Dad got sick of the old 953 breaking down so much, he got mad and we took it over the our local WH dealer and we traded it in on a like new D200 with the rear mounted 60 inch finish mower deck and a big ole snow blade too. Here ya go boy, don't tear it up! Wow, now that was a big beast! KJ
