Mine also has the 16hp Onan engine.

The 1976 through 1980 D-160s had ONANs.

what separates the D160 from the bigger D180 and D200? Do they all have a rear PTO? Are they all fairly similar in weight and functionality (except for the motors of course)?

The D200 was the top of the line in the series. It came standard with the rear PTO, Luxury seat, turning brakes, 3PTH, and gauge cluster. The D160 was the economy version, it would accept all the options but it did not come with them. The D180 was in between, it came with some of the options. As far as I can tell there is no differance between the frames (except motor mounting) or trannies.

This one has an Onan. I found this for sale from an older fella today. It is not advertised and has been

sitting there for 5 years. He said sparks fly from behind the flywheel? ...hmmm. :eusa-think: I have no idea what it is worth.

the mower deck looks to be in fair condition and is included. Any estimates to it value?

One difference to the frames on the 18 Automatic vs the tractors that were equipped with the hydro cooling fans was that the seat spring mount was alieviated on the models with the fan.
