Another Spindle Question: Do I need The Bearing Housing?

Hi Everyone,

I have a '77 B-100 with the 36" Mowing Deck (75-36XR02/MS02). The center spindle bearing seem shot as it is wiggling all over the place. I tried to get the spindle off and like a lot of folks, completely killed it. I assume I could cut it since it is shot and that would allow me to get to the housing bolts.

Since I have yet to get the bearing shaft and assembly out, is there anything else in the housing? I don't see anything from my original manual but I wanted to see if anyone had any thoughts on whether I really needed to find a housing as well.

I can't help you as I have never owned a 36"deck. Some one here should know how it comes apart.
