kris22 6 #1 Posted May 12, 2012 not sure if this is the proper place for this topic but i recently did an engine swap on my charger 9 from tec to briggs. (would have loved to keep it original but the tec needed alot of work to keep it running) the tec had an 1 1/8" shaft and the briggs has a 1" shaft, the bushing that the pto pully sits on wont fit obviously and i know some model WH's had bushings for the 1" shaft. my question is where can i get one to make this pto setup work as original. the pully on the motor will work with the pto mount as it has the needed mounting holes. any help would be greatly appreciated. Sparky-(Admin) 23,277 #2 Posted May 12, 2012 I might have one. I parted out a Briggs powered WH last year. Will try tocheck tomorrow. Are you going to the tractor show next weekend in Somers Ct? Its just over the Mass line and I could bring it to the show(assuming I have one). Mike............
Kelly 1,033 #3 Posted May 12, 2012 The Briggs has the right pulley on it you say? so it must be off a WH make sure it is the same diam. as the old pulley hydros and sticks use different size pulleys, and if Mike don't have the PTO bushing I know I have a few of them send me a PM. kris22 6 #4 Posted May 12, 2012 Sparky- I do plan on being there. If you do have one let me know how much you would part with it for. As for the show I am thinking of bringing my charger and c81 with me but not sure if it is like the show in colchester where you can just cruise around on tractors or not. I hope to see you there and meet some other RS members Kelly- its not the right pully per say but it will do the trick for what I'm running on the tractor now. I have already made sure those two thin metal retainers will bolt up. I will pm you if I don't find anything next weekend
Sparky-(Admin) 23,277 #5 Posted May 13, 2012 Good news, I have one. It just needs to be cleaned up a bit as there is a smidge of surface rust starting on the outside from sitting in my shop for the last 5 months or so. Look for me at the Somers show, I'll have a grey Work Horse series and a 520 with a for sale sign on it. I'll PM you my cell phone number. Mike...................
