Questions about Wheel Horse D250

Wheel Horse Kid

Hello,

I am interested in possibly purchasing a D250 in the future and was wondering if you guys could give me a little more information about them (I can hardly find any info on the internet)?

First, are these tractors collectable and if so what would be a price range for one in pretty good condition with a mower deck?

Second, since this is a less common Wheel Horse, is it possible to find parts for them?

Thirdly, what category of 3 point hitch did these come with and would the hitch work with other universal 3 point hitch attachments (like a tiller) that are the same category?

Lastly, what transmission did they put in these tractors? I know that they have a Renault 4 cylinder motor, but could not find out what transmission that they had other than they are an a 8 speed transmission with hi/lo.

Thanks and Any Help Would Be Greatly appreciated!

Taylor

they are a cool tractor however parts are getting harder and harder to find which naturally runs the price up, most guys recommend having a parts tractor with a runner to keep it going. a lot of their attachments are for 250's only. i've seen them go for $4000 and i've seen asking price of $1200 not sell and get parted out

3 point is a cat 0 and you must be careful when trying different attachments to be sure the spin the same way ( some clockwise some counter clockwise ) speeds the same etc.

I love mine but I can see why they wouldn't be for everyone. parts are hard to find, if you can't find them you have to have them machined, etc.

I think around $2000.00 is a fair price for one in very good cond. but that also depends on what part of the country you live in it seems there are more of these in the North mid west than where I live in the mid atlantic.

If you have the patience to let it set until you can get the parts you need I would say it is the greatest garden tractor ever built, it should be considered a compact, it has that much weight and power.
