dragonsbear 0 #1 Posted May 3, 2012 I desperatly need a wiring schematic for a Mdl 312-8. engine specs: 47724d mdl K3018 ser# 10041863 Any help would greatly appreciated
gwest_ca-(File Mod) 11,513 #2 Posted May 4, 2012 None of the 312-8's used a K301S-47724d nor did any other Wheel Horse model. Kohler made serial # 10041863 in 1980 In 1980 they used a K301S-47723d in the c-125's. In 1981-84 they used a K301S-47742 in the C-125's. What is the model number on the tractor? Do you have battery ignition and a voltage regulator? Sounds like the engine has been replaced. Garry
dragonsbear 0 #3 Posted May 22, 2012 appologies for the slow response.. the id# 2112K805 32016 I don't know a lot about this tractor. Previous owners have wires running everywhere. There is a small silver thing with terminals on it i presume is a regulator. I need to get the tractor so it charges. It will run with a full charge on the battery but quits when the battery runs down. Put in a new battery and it runs till it runs down. I can wire a car but really need help with how to proceed with this. Thanks much for the response. I hope the ID helps identify what it should have. The motor is really strong so if i need to change a bunch of things, I'm ready....
redhorse100 4 #4 Posted May 23, 2012 hi that number comes up 1988 312-
tunahead72 2,553 #5 Posted May 23, 2012 As redhorse100 noted, the 21-12K805 model number indicates that your tractor is a 1988 model, which would have come from the factory with a Kohler Magnum M12S engine, not a K301S. The wiring diagrams for that model are in Toro's demystification guide, which is available under the Files tab here on RedSquare: That guide indicates that the wiring diagrams are identical for the 1987 and 1988 312-8 models, and I believe there's a wiring diagram for the 1987 model here: http://www.wheelhors...owners-manuals/ Hope this helps! ==> Garry, did you happen to check Kohler's site to see where the 47724d spec WAS originally used? gwest_ca-(File Mod) 11,513 #6 Posted May 23, 2012 Kohler has it labeled for Engineering Products. Should have a 15amp stator and battery ignition. dragonsbear - Does it still have battery ignition? If the engine has the low oil switch the best wiring diagram is the 1986 416-8 model 31-16K802 If it does not have the low oil switch the best wiring diagram may be the 1985 417-8 model 31-17K801 if you can find one. This is a twin cylinder engine. Garry
