Dead horse in Utah

Recommended Posts

Pilot78

I found this dead wheel horse in the mountains of Utah.....looks like someone wanted it to be a John Deere. Should I get it for parts or walk away? How difficult would it be to find a hood for this 552? I can find the Kohler, but without the hood it's just a tractor. Attached are a few pics, sorry if they are a little blurry. Any suggestions?

Finding the hood will be far easier than the original Lauson H-55 (not a Kohler). If the price is right, parts is parts.... and even more valuable out in your neck of the woods! I see a Gravely L in the background too...

I agree with Jason on this one. I would think that they are few and far between out in your neck of the woods. There are some really good parts still left on that machine that could be used for future projects. If the price is right (free) then I would try and get that back in to shape if at all possible.

I agree and if by chance the shifter boot is still intact I'll just come out and help load that dude.

 :woohoo:

The gas tank and the ag tires alone are worth a lot. I would get it, find a Kohler 7hp or 8hp motor, a hood, and repaint everything.
