Electro12WH 50 #1 Posted April 28, 2012 Has anyone been able to use Gator blades on a WH three hole hub?
6wheeler 669 #2 Posted April 28, 2012 I tried them on my 48" deck. I wasn't impressed at all. I put a set of regular blades back on. :twocents-02cents:
ben06351 19 #3 Posted April 28, 2012 I have a set of "Gator style" blades made by Oregon on my 48" I love em by far the best I have ever had. Use em professionally on all my fall cleanups and could still read the numbers on em, and i got em used too.
Electro12WH 50 #4 Posted April 28, 2012 Did you remove the two pins or what? I haven't found any Gators with pin holes.
ben06351 19 #5 Posted April 28, 2012 not sure they came with the deck. Sorry not much help...
Electro12WH 50 #6 Posted April 29, 2012 I think the newer ones did something different. This is on a 1970 48" deck. Besides the center bolt, there are two locating pins and Gator never made a blade for them. Historically, my deck has just had a so-so cut. Even freshly sharpened. Kelly 1,033 #7 Posted April 29, 2012 I don't know about fitting them on the early deck, but I have them on my JD mower and I don't think I will buy another set, to me not worth the extra money, yours being the older deck are the baffles still in it? if not it will give a poor cut. Electro12WH 50 #8 Posted April 30, 2012 Yup! Baffles and all. I don't think the stock blades have that much lift. Maybe I'm expecting too much. I mowed with a push mower once and thought it looked better.
