bomber19 2 #1 Posted April 24, 2012 I bought a k301 for my C120 but after buying it I found that it had a 1" pto shaft instead of 1 1/8" shaft, is there an adapter that I can buy to use this engine?
rmaynard 16,241 #2 Posted April 24, 2012 :WRS: As long as the PTO shaft is the correct length, you can get an adapter or you can get a 1" drive pulley and PTO bearing race from a B-80 or C-81.
Guest skinner #3 Posted April 24, 2012 3"x1"x1-1/8" sleeve adapters are available on ebay. I just put one on a harbor freight 13hp in order to do exactly the same thing. It works well and there is little to no runout - they are very snug and concentric. You'll aslo need a 1/4x5/16 key. Granger has 12" undersize key way stock in that size for about $4ea and you can make several. Also, you actually do have some margin on the shaft length. The bearing sleeve will make up for that within reason. I have an HH160 that is set up with quite a bit shorter output shaft than a k321 that I have for a similar tractor - they both use the same sleeves and pulleys and PTO assemblies. The bearing sleeve has 1/2" or so less support on the hh160 but it is sufficient and that is how WH built it.
