753 Fluid capacity.

I was wondering about the gear oil capacity in my 753. I drained it (left the plug out for over a week) so I know it was fully drained. The usage chart states that it takes 1.5 quarts. Well, I took the left tire off and tilted the tractor ever so slightly. Unscrewed the hex plug and started to fill the transaxle...it only held right at 1 quart before the oil was up to the hole. Do I need to tilt the tractor more to get the extra 1/2 quart in, or am I doing something wrong?

when you drained the oil did you lift up the front of the tractor so the oil that gets trapped by the hump in the bottom of the trans drained out?

not sure if there would be 1/2 quart there but it might be close!

I've never got 1.5 QTs in a 3 speed yet, about 1qt, the 8 speeds take 2qts
