gsinal 1 #1 Posted April 20, 2012 Well i got new blades for my 42 in rear discharge deck. and when i hooked it up it is not getting alot of travel up and down from the hydrolic lift like an inch of travel. The bumpers on the deck dont hit the bottom of the tractor. i would have guessed the deck could be adjusted so the bumpers would hit the bottom of the tractor. i took som pics ot the deck mounted on the under side so you can see how i hooked it up. i dont kmow it the chain needs to be adjusted or what any help. also the hydrolic line going to the cylinder is loose and i spins does it tighten up or is it supose to be this way. here is pic of the under side another view of the under side
AMC RULES 37,210 #2 Posted April 20, 2012 Looks like that fitting is leaking...how's your fluid level?
Hodge71 665 #3 Posted April 20, 2012 Take a link out of the chain. I really don't think a chain is supposed to lift the deck. My 416 has a piece of linkage that ties the mid rockshaft to the implement lift. The only time I have a chain on mine is for the snowplow
gsinal 1 #4 Posted April 21, 2012 yes it is leaking some. if i tighten down the fitting i will have to take it off the hydro pump i think because the the hose and fitting is spinning together.. thanks i will take the chain off before i cut again. it cuts super low so hopfully it will help
AMC RULES 37,210 #5 Posted April 21, 2012 Leaking enough volume to lower the level of hydraulic fluid in the reservoir? :scratchead:
leeave96 490 #6 Posted April 21, 2012 You can adjust the linkage to the chain from where it attaches to the lift if you want a precise fit. The bumpers should be touching to keep the deck from bouncing around as you have it in the up position. You can get to this adjustment from the dash plate below the steering wheel. Other than travel height in transport, the deck height is determined by the deck wheels - which you may know, but I thought I'd add. I'd fix the hydro leak first. Nice tractor you got. Good luck, Bill
can whlvr 994 #7 Posted April 21, 2012 all of my tractors have chain between the rock shaft and the deck lift arm,but your setup is not factory setup so some one may have put the wrong size chain, the factory has a trunion that hooke to the arm and chain, like stated play with the chain and see if you can get the proper lift
SAM58 30 #8 Posted April 25, 2012 i HAD THE SAME PROBLEM, TAKE THE VERTICAL PANEL OFF UNDER THE STEERING WHEEL. YOU WILL SEE AN ADJUSTABLE NUT WHICH IS THE TOP OF THE LIFT CHAIN. UNLESS IT WORKED BEFORE, IT IS PROBALLY A HYD. ISSUE.
