Shuboxlover 481 #1 Posted April 19, 2012 I FINALLY got around to fixing my gas tank so it doesn't leak anymore. I put a new head gasket in it and took the carb off and cleaned it really well. The thing ran GREAT before i took the carb off, but now, at idle; the thing "hunts". I have rebuilt at least a half dozen Kohler carbs before and never had this problem. I adjusted the governor and set both needles to the preliminary settings. What should I do/check now? Thanks Tyson
Kelly 1,033 #2 Posted April 19, 2012 Try setting the choke a little bit, if that helps you have a piece of dirt in the carb. try cleaning it again.
Shuboxlover 481 #3 Posted April 19, 2012 I did pull the choke out a bit and it seemed to help.....guess I'll take the carb back off. Thanks Kelly, I'll let you know what I find...but of course, I have to get a new starter/generator belt as mine gave up the ghost. I don't know when I'll have time to do this stuff...REALLY busy time of year for me.
