tgranthamfd 29 #1 Posted April 17, 2012 Was wondering if anyone has heard of a Wheel Horse Zero Turn mower, I haven't. It is on a CL add here.

Kelly 1,033 #3 Posted April 17, 2012 My neighbor up the road has one just like that, I think his has a 24hp Onan in it, I'm pretty sure we have a member here with one.
jdog_kustoms 82 #4 Posted April 17, 2012 i have had a zero turn wheel horse mine had a 16 onan and one was a 18 hp magnum kohler these zero turns were made by dixie chopper they are nice units but the week link is the eaton 7 hydro pumps
tgranthamfd 29 #5 Posted April 17, 2012 I don't plan on getting it, I have just never seen one and thought it was interesting. No more room in the stable, no need for something with a 60" cut, and they are asking big money or trade for a work truck. It didn't say what it had on it, motor wise. 546cowboy 302 #6 Posted April 17, 2012 I have had and sold two 1990's, one 616Z and one 612Z. They were made as commercial mower. Finding trans axles can be a long term waiting game. Took me a year to find one for the 616 and had to buy another mower with a locked up engine in PA. Luckily I had a friend going close to there who hauled it for me. The weak link on any zero turn are the hydro's and those earlier ones had no filters. Haven't had any experience with that 700 series. I surely wouldn't buy one without being able to test till the hydro's were warm. That looks like and Onan motor.
Wheel Horse Kid 105 #7 Posted April 17, 2012 I have seen a couple of those before. I always thought they looked cool! If I ever found one for a fair price around here, I would for sure want to buy it!
JackC 617 #8 Posted April 17, 2012 I understand they were originally designed by Dixie Chopper. My cousin has a Cub Cadet zero turn and he says it goes 15mph. Here is a discussion about the Wheel Horse / Toro / Dixie Chopper connection. http://whtractor.15.forumer.com/a/need-new-zero-turn_post22282.html
