How to attach belt on Raider 12 w/electric clutch

Hello all.

Posting for my brother, who picked up a CL score of a Raider 12 that needs a little love, but was a good deal. It has the electric clutch, but doesnt have the hydro like the Electro 12. The deck came separate from the mower, so he is working on hooking it up, and was stymied by how to install the belt. There are no model #s on anything, so I couldnt search for manuals.

Does someone have anything they could post showing the right way to install the belt over the electric clutch drive pulley?

I don't know about the older ones, but my newer style, you unplug the wire and there is a spring loaded pull pin that lets everything rotate to where you can get the belt over it.

See if this picture will help out any.

Almost looks, as if, you would unplug the wire (11-12) and maybe remove a bolt or pin from the bracket (14-43) and rotate the clutch backwards to give a gap to get the belt around. Not for sure though.

Thanks Terry, that helps out immensely! I havent actually put eyes on his setup yet, so that makes it even harder for me to help him out with it... Im going to try and stop by there today and see what we can come up with. This will help a bunch!

I hope it does. My 2005 has the electric PTO, which is more that likely the same old platform just up graded to make it a little easier to get the belt on. It shouldn't be much more than taking out a bolt or pulling some sort of pin. Let us know how it goes, I need to fill up the knowlege reserves. I have never messed with the old style electric clutches. Get a couple of picture, if you can. Good luck.

Well, I wanted to post back now that I have had eyes on this machine. (No pics tho, sorry!)

I pulled the pin and disconnected the wires, but even then there isnt enough clearance there to pull the belt through easily. Does something shift in or out on this that might make the difference?

Also, any ideas on the model #s that would go with a 36" RD deck for a Raider 12? No decals on the mower, and Im trying to figure out the proper way to get the thing on and off the tractor. It took forever yesterday, and was insanely difficult. There has to be an easier way or a secret that Im missing somewhere....
