tgranthamfd 29 #28 Posted April 14, 2012 I would imagine any 300, or 400 series from that time frame will fit, not sure about the 500's. By the way, good job glad you got it and it is running nicely. Way to go.

1maidenfan 202 #30 Posted April 15, 2012 Mowed my dads yard with the 416-8 today, wow what a beating his yard is a mess!, I wont be using the 416-8 anymore for his yard. Looks like its self propelled mower time, half his yard use to be a garden so its very rough and half his yard has short steep hills that a rider just cant do. The mower performed well, mowes well and runs great. Did have a problem with the electrical though, had to jump the starter solenoid once but after that it worked fine? Not sure on that one. I am wanting to sale or trade as I need a self propelled and dont need this one. If interested contact me. Thanks.

Warning:Unsupervised 82 #35 Posted September 1, 2019 "I just got a 416-8 . after getting it home I found that where the block bolts to the frame the block is wider than the frame" Yep' my 1988 414-8 Kohler Magnum 14hp engine hangs out past the frame like this also and it was weird to me the first time I saw it until I looked up underneath the pan real good then saw more bolts. The 414-8 tractors are fantastic mowers and fwiw Kohler/Onan are fairly easily interchangeable I do believe if anyone ever desires but' most likely may have some wiring to deal with? These have 8 spd trans with 1 1/8 axle & the 8 pinions, these are very tough units. The only thing I ever really changed on mine was I put the old style tall/narrow 4.00x 8 rims/tires on the front so it feels like power steering, mainly due to my health issues but I do prefer the look of them more also. My safety test switch fell apart so I can't just simply test my safety features easily and I can't seem to locate one as of yet. Overall these are great tractors...
