whtractors24 3,399 #2 Posted April 9, 2012 Looks like I think to be a c-125 12 hp Kohler motor hydro rear end. Rear fender is home made.

WH854 45 #4 Posted April 9, 2012 i need any info i can get on this tractor it has a hydro lift and drive twin cyl onan i want to restore runs great got it for free I will take a shot at helping. It has what is called a black hood on it, which would make it a C series tractor, possible a C-165 Auto, I don't think the Onan was in the C series tractors.(Kohler And Briggs engines I could be wrong on this part) From the rear can you see an oil filter,on the left side. that would make it have an Eaton 1100 transmission.the fender pan looks like it was home made. OH YEAH look down under neath where the key switch is maybe there is a little tag with the model # Thats all for me Chas PS :WRS:
ushoundog 0 #5 Posted April 9, 2012 awesome i will get more pics when i get home tonight i need the belt sizes if anyone can find that
whfan74 2,072 #6 Posted April 9, 2012 If it is an Onan, that would be a transplant to that machine. My guess is that it started it's life as a C-161 Twin Automatic. Like the guys mentioned.......check for the tag and we can go from there. Welcome to the Square!
1maidenfan 202 #7 Posted April 9, 2012 Great tractor, especially for FREEEE!! :WRS:

liketoplayto 6 #9 Posted April 9, 2012 could be a c175 twin engine but that been a kohler engine i believe 17 hp
leeave96 490 #10 Posted April 9, 2012 I'm thinking a C-165 too. I think (real fuzzy on this one) they may have used a twin cylinder briggs in those tractors too. The good news is it runs. I like the home made treadplate rear fender, just watch your leg on those sharp corners! Good luck, Bill
ushoundog 0 #11 Posted April 9, 2012 could it be a d

ushoundog 0 #14 Posted April 9, 2012 i think your right i was just looking at the 161 i think thats it does anyone know the belt size for the drive belt on this tractor ive been using link belts and they just dont fit or last long enough
Kelly 1,033 #15 Posted April 9, 2012 I can say for sure it's NOT a C-161, they had fiberglass hoods and a different dash, they never put Onans in that body from the factory, it is from 1980 to a 84, it's a hydro so that rules out the 8hp C-85 it could be a C-105, C-125, C-145, C-165, or a C-175 you will need to read the model no. off the tag to find out what year it was and what model it was. And as a side note, they used metal fenders in 84, so I would guess yours had plastic ones and they broke that is why the custom fender, so I'm guessing it not a 84, and it looks to have older or incorrect front rims they look narrow not the deep style that should be on it. boovuc 1,090 #16 Posted April 9, 2012 That motor has the "shaker" cradle and it really looks like a KT17 Kohler Twin. I'm saying it's a C-175 Auto.
Kelly 1,033 #17 Posted April 9, 2012 :text-yeahthat: I thought it looked like factory twin exh. on it, but he said it was for sure a Onan, so I stopped right there.
