Magnum 14 HP Kohler Chirps or tweets?

No it's not a bird.

I was wondering if any one else has this problem?

When you are raising the throttle it makes this funny noise, as soon

as you throttle all the way up it goes away.It also make the same

noise when the governor is kicking in, then goes away. I did put a

new head gasket last fall. This may be common 14HP Magnum I hope.

Three Magnums here, too, and they're all quiet. Any chance the PTO clutch is partially engaging, or maybe the little brake thingy on the PTO has worn down to bare metal and at certain speeds makes the sound?

Thanks for your response can whlvr and Hydro, I will disconnect the PTO and see if that

makes a difference. I'm having a had time with the noise seems like it could be comming

from the PTO or muffler both in same area. Hope it's PTO rather than main bearing.

Thanks Again

Thanks Kelly, problem solved one bolt closest to muffler and PTO was slightly

loose. I thought I torque all the bolts must have missed one. I did not check

after the engine was warmed up. My fault.

Thanks again for all everyone's help
