mrc 960 #1 Posted March 27, 2012 hello guys, i have an older style narrow front 8 inch wheel. the hub where the bearing rests is cracked. someone had a hose clamp around the hub. my thought is to weld the hub. then hopefully the bearing will be tight in there again. questions: have you guys run across this problem before? is this weld repair idea a long term solution? or should i look for another wheel? thank you mike in mass. jdog_kustoms 82 #2 Posted March 27, 2012 welding might work but you might have trouble geting it just right not to tight and not to loose for the bearing and also the round might be flaired out becuase the of the bearing walking in it and and bowing it out if it was me id find another wheel but you know how opinions are and i have not see this personally before but who know what life the tractor has had in the past

Worth a try anyway, and it might hold you over until you find a replacement.
