608KEB 796 #1 Posted March 12, 2012 I degreased the motor 4-5 days ago sprayed it off with water, started it afterwards. I let it run about 5-10 minutes. Then I started it an hour after that. I tried to start it today and it won't start. It does have spark. But the spark looked a little faint. Any suggestions? KB
Sparky-(Admin) 22,882 #2 Posted March 12, 2012 After trying a new spark plug I would check the points for proper gap? I think its 20 thousanths gap. Mike.........
BOWTIE 226 #3 Posted March 12, 2012 HELLO, MY GUESS IS MOISTURE UNDER THE POINT COVER. ONCE YOU GOT IT HOT IT CREATED MOISTURE. BLOW IT DRY OR JUST LET IT AIR OUT. GOOD LUCK
rmaynard 16,203 #4 Posted March 12, 2012 :text-yeahthat: Biggest problem with washing the engine is water getting into the points cover. Take it off and let it dry out. Also be sure that water did not get down into the top of the coil.
