Horse Fanatic 51 #1 Posted February 25, 2012 These things always just simply slide on. I'm working on my C-195 and I can't get the bell to slide on the crank sleeve because evidently the oil seal is doing such a good job, air can't escape and the crank is like a piston and compressing the air inside it. Any suggestions?
JackC 617 #2 Posted February 25, 2012 Not familiar with the procedure or the problem. Possibly a piece of string or fishing line or a thin plastic tooth pick might provide sufficient air gap to allow the unit to slide on? If all else fails, I have a sledge hammer you can borrow if you want to try that. Actually, you might be able to tap it on if you are careful.

Any suggestions? Could be possible you have to much grease in it to let the air out through the ball bearing end.Could be hard grease I have seen that sometimes. smoreau 658 #4 Posted February 25, 2012 It sounds like you got way to much grease on the needle bearing, You should only use enough to coat the bearing with a thin layer, to much grease will leak out the seal when it gets hot and end up getting grease on the clutch disk even know its a new seal.
