krazy_horse 59 #1 Posted February 13, 2012 I have a rough 1055 less the engine. After reading about Kellys Rat Rod and others on the forum I think I would like to build one. I found a Wisconsin Model# AGND,bore and stroke ,3 and a half by 4in. And the crank is 1 and 1/8 . Is this something that can be used on the 1055? What is the Horse Power? Thanks, Jim

Jim_M 179 #3 Posted February 13, 2012 That Wisconsin is a HUGE engine, you'll never fit a hood on the tractor. I think they're 12 horsepower.
pfrederi 18,640 #4 Posted February 13, 2012 Wisconsins are very very TALL!!
littleredrider 409 #5 Posted February 14, 2012 Too bad your so far away, I have a 1055 that I'm trying to get rid of. But you could raise the hood up, might get you enough room to clear that engine.
Kelly 1,033 #6 Posted February 14, 2012 The 1055 is a short frame tractor, and has a shorter height wise dash tower than the long frame tractors, and to fit the 10hp in the 1045, 1055 and 1075 they used a special oil pan, that is only about 1" tall, so it would clear the hood, so that monster Wisconsin will not fit very good, and the crank will probably be way to high to line up the belt correctly, if you want to find another engine for it, look at Cub engines most use the correct block to fit the small pan, and have 1" cranks like that tractor uses, you will have to swap a bunch of parts but you have them on the old motor, and you will most likely have to trim the oil dipper on the rod to clear the small pan. Flatheadpuller 6 #7 Posted February 14, 2012 That will not fit in a wheel horse of any kind. They are 12.5 hp. 3.500 bore with a 4 inch stroke. most have a 1-7/16 crank pto. Very good engine and very powerful. I built one for pulling in an open rpm class. Mine makes close to 60hp.
mid60's 93 #8 Posted February 16, 2012 If my memmory is correct, and it may not be, 1965 was the only year they put a big block on a short frame tractor. I'd try to find a 10 hp kohler to put on it. I really like mine. Good grief Tom! Bet those tires were hard to hold.
