linen beige 15 #26 Posted August 4, 2008 It's all starting to make a little more sense now... Hey Jim... just for giggles... what's the s/n on your unmolested 58? You KNOW I had to push the Crapsman out of the way, move a 32 inch rd deck from my 702, roll the turf tires and wheels from my 1054A out of the way, move the tranny for my ST 400, move my jack stands, my generator, and a couple of other things. THEN roll the RJ with it's flat front tires out from under the shelf holding my push mowers, wipe off the grease and dust, grab a flashlight and squint really tight, but it looks like 14713 (wiping sweat from brow smilie). The decal has started to delaminate so the first number is a little hard to see, but it looks like the other "1" in the number. Now I have to put all this stuff back where it was so I can get the door shut on the shed.
DMESS 24 #27 Posted August 4, 2008 Jim, did you say......1054A? And yes, numbers from 1958-1961 and then from 1962-up will duplicate. What I don't know is wether or not they kept the sequence rolling past 1965 or started again for a third time using the new metal data tags. I never paid much attention after 1965.

linen beige 15 #32 Posted August 6, 2008 What I don't know is wether or not they kept the sequence rolling past 1965 or started again for a third time using the new metal data tags. My 1965 1054A has the serial number on the shift pattern decal. it doesn't have a metal tag? But it does have the holes where one could be mounted. B)
