lincman 3 #1 Posted February 1, 2012 So after about 2 weeks I (well my father and I) finally got the 520-H back up and running. I posted about a carb problem earlier. Now here's my quandry; the hp% gauge reads 50% with full throttle and with the hydrostatic trans and about full speed. Is that normal or not? Just wanted to know. I wish it snow so I could give the 520 a proper test.
Rollerman 290 #2 Posted February 1, 2012 The guage is vacume operated & it's been awhile since I've used a 520H. If I remember right the guage will show when there is a load on the engine. My guess is pushing snow throttled up you won't see much change in the 50% reading. Wait till next spring when your knocking down some tall grass & then you'll see that Onan sing & the gueage move a little more.
lincman 3 #3 Posted February 1, 2012 Okay, thank you. When the gauge was at 50% the blade was up, and I was just tooling around the driveway. Still alot better than how it was 2 weeks ago. I am beyond thrilled the horse is galloping again. I like the 312-8 and all, but I missed the hydrostatic trans and the hydraulic lift.
