sorekiwi 761 #27 Posted July 3, 2008 The tractor I'd really like is very rare, in fact I think there was only one made. I want a Load Ranger! B)
Nick 13 #28 Posted July 3, 2008 I like any Wheel Horse that runs. And as Dale says cheap or even better free is best. I cant give any real reason why but I do like the C-175. Just something about the look of them. Ok I could have done without the plastic fenders. In the newer tractors I would also like to try the 523-Dxi someday. The power of a 23hp diesel and the smell of its exhaust. I wonder if they can be turned up much and a turbo might be nice. Hey Mike, When you was here ya should have drove the Load Ranger. You could have tried lifting or ramming something. It sure aint no trailer queen afraid to get even more dirty than it already is. B)
HorseFixer 2,013 #29 Posted July 3, 2008 Well, I might as well throw my two cents in as we all know its the GT14's but I really am kind of partial to the 57 rj's. They are kind of neat, because that was a really special year. I bet you can't guess why? See ya Burly I bet I can! You OLD FART! ya got me by 7 months! and yes I need one of those to close the GAP between the 56 and the 58! Wouldnt happen to have a spare layin around would ya! Curmudgeon 28 #30 Posted July 3, 2008 But, I have to agree with Dale. A freebie, even one that is a compilation of spare parts that dosen't even run is a good one by me.... I don't feel as bad making up whatever I want that way! Kevin I've actually gotten 4 this way! Maybe that's worthy of another thread......... In fact............ aemsee 93 #32 Posted October 14, 2021 This site has introduced me to some really cool old WH's. I grew up mowing with a D-160 so would love to find one some day ( would love to find that one as it was my Dad's first new tractor purchase. He handed it down to me and I foolishly traded it for a BDL .270 and a set of oxy torches)...but those old round hoods really catch my eye.
Wheelhorse#1 1,830 #33 Posted October 14, 2021 I like them all.I think maybe a C-160, gear driven. Or a 857 I tend to like the older gear driven models,I think 🤔 However ,I did just buy one of those so called no name 12 hp automatic. It’s has the sunstrand hydro trans. Not sure if I like it because it’s still in pieces on the shop floor. My wife still thinks I bought it for her to ride in the show next yr.😂 and that’s true somewhat.

I sometimes get the impression the visual design excellence of these little machines doesn’t get as much appreciation as their technical goodness does, but the lines and proportions are right there (with maybe an exception or two that only a fool would mention in here).
19richie66 17,655 #35 Posted October 14, 2021 Gt14 is my favorite. 953/1054 a close second. Only other one I would love to find is a Senior, along with everone else that’s into Wheel Horses.
