CRE1992 135 #2 Posted January 15, 2012 I use a craftsman diehard digital one, it also analyses the charge left in the battery. I would highly recommend one for the winter time if your WH are kept in an unheated garage or shed.

shallowwatersailor 3,214 #4 Posted January 16, 2012 I use a combination. On my main plow tractor (still unused this winter!) I have a Battery Tender brand because of the nice disconnect that it has. My second tractor has a Harbor Freight trickle charger with clips, and my third has the battery sitting on a workbench (tractor is outside covered) with a Harbor Freight battery charger/maintainer. If one fails, I know that I have a charged battery in the group. It helps in my opinion.
Zeek 2,286 #5 Posted January 16, 2012 I use these on three motorcycles, two tractors and a marine battery and they all start perfectly after sitting for months in the cold. Price is right too. Other places like Amazon sell them too, check around. Nice thing is you can permanently mount an end on whatever you are maintaining so you can just unplug and go. http://www.tooltopia...CFUOo4Aodvh-pmA
John Sullivan 24 #6 Posted January 16, 2012 Thank you to all who responded. My tractor is in a non-heated space. Will be purchasing a tender. Thanks for (as usual) the quick responses as well as the battery tender sites. John
