I used it to clear all the logs off my lot when I built my house. I then redid it and sold it for a John Deere. It was the biggest mistake I ever made. I truly miss it. I also agree that the lack of a a live PTO and hydraulic was a major hindrance to these older Fords but for sheer longevity you can't beat em. Dad is still going strong with his pair of 960's and his 53' NAA, both direct decendents of the N series. NAA introduced the overhead valve engine and the 960's feature live pto(two stage clutch) and hydraulics with power steering and row crop configuration with 5 speed transmissions. Dad's NAA also features the 3 speed front end and 2 speed rear end. that darn thing will do 25 MPH and is also the slowest tractor I have ever seen that wasn't hydro Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

I hope you used the delco one wire altenator with the internal regulator and flat belt pulley so you can use an original style belt. I had a 1948 8n for about ten years. They are good machines.
