Anglo Traction

Hi Rooster,

It was a bit early in the morning over here when you posted!, hence the lack of immediate responses.

As Neil says, I think the 2 that he has are probably the only ones in the UK that the RS Members here own.

There may be others hiding in people's shed etc that are not Members, but they are pretty rare.

I suspect that the 50's era over here were still struggling with the period of Post War austerity and so few Imports arrived.

Also, there were many examples of British built equipment available at the time to fill the needs of potential Garden Tractor buyers.

Regards

Sounds to me like those particular tractors were literally beaten into the ground...... I doubt many - if any - survived.

If any do exist they just wouldn;t fit our vision of an rj with whatever they sent over for new axles.

Might be quit a collectors item now. JIM

meadowfield

There is one that regularly attends one our northern uk events, plus I've seen the odd one around at other shows - unfortunately finding ones that people are prepared to part with is another matter....

II have a 1960 400 suburban with attachements that i bought last year from a guy named commander Sscarlet Stretfield who was a spitfire pilot during the 2nd world war and he had the tractor since new but unfortunatly was terminally ill so he desided to sell the tractor

it needs a new engibe and has the hood cut to recieve a different engine , so im now in the market for a new suburban 400 Hood if antone has one
