hi guys, i have a problem, on my 6 hp Tecumseh i had the engine running about 4 years ago, so last week i figured i could pull it out from the corner of my garage and fix it up, somehow the head was full of like a half a quart of oil when i fixed it i (took off head, carb rebuild) but i didn't take off the oil pan, the engine was kept away from moisture, the bore looked good, piston good, valves good, i have had this problem with engines from the past where i put them on their head, they get full of oil, i take off the head and clean it, here is the bad part THEY WILL NOT TURN OVER WITH A SPARK PLUG IN, AND THEY ARE PULL START icon_evil.gif and i can only get the compression to 40 pounds on my new gauge and it is that had to turn over, Ive got to be doing something wrong.

Well of course it was full of oil in the head. So after you have the head off tilt it so the oil dribbles out, then set it rightside up for awhile and let the excess oil drain back.

Can I ask why it was stored upside down?

It's called gravity and it's absolutely normal. :handgestures-thumbup:

Store them right-side-up and it won't happen.
