Pennsylvania 3-Gang Reel Mower For RJ-58

Recommended Posts

71_Bronco

Was just looking at the RJ sales flyer, and saw this listed as one of the attachments. It looks like a really neat attachment to have.

Are these things common? I don't think I have seen one on here except for the one that guy was restoring a couple weeks back.

Whats the story on these?

They are not that common and I have only seen one set up and they were beat, I didn't even make an offer. IMO as a collector they are really bulky, heavy and take up a lot of room. The RJ attachment to find is the front mount sikle or early RJ front mount reel mower.

Do either one of you guys have a picture? Are they designed like the ones you can get to pull behind a atv?

Was just looking on Craigslist and found a 3-Reel gand mower, with a TORO Tag on it, calling it a "Spartian 30" Cutting Unit"

Was this the same thing?

I just picked up an 854 with a 3 reel mower gang setup. It has clip on guards for the reels that are wheel horse by stickers still on them. Two reels run behind front wheels and the third is towed at the rear. I have not seen another setup like this and am curious about it. All 3 reels spin and are in pretty good condition including the adjustments to sharpen. I was searching here to find other attachments that were available for this tractor. Any help out there?

Here is a photo of a set of them taken last year at the Winamac, Indiana Power from the Past Show. This tractors and mower set up is owned by Gene Wisinski of Indiana.
