John Sullivan 24 #1 Posted January 1, 2012 Hi everyone, i just purchased a used 48" snow plow. The original owner tells me this part is art of the plow. After having looked up all the information and printing out the plow information, I cannot see where this part would go. Help would be appreciated. Thank you, John
varosd 1,185 #2 Posted January 1, 2012 Not sure John, do you have the model number of the snow plow? there is some blades that were intended for vertical shaft engines and would require a lot modifications to fit you nice looking 520. smarter folks will chime in with a infinite knowledge base happy new year! ^_^
John Sullivan 24 #3 Posted January 1, 2012 Hi The plow number is 79364 the serial number is 220000491 it should be off a 2002. I have it lined up to my 520 and it seems to fit I just cannot understand where this extra part goes. Happy Holidays John.
Sparky-(Admin) 23,147 #4 Posted January 1, 2012 I went here https://www.shoptoro.com/Comergent/en/US/adirect/Toro?cmd=ToroOnlineModelLookupSearch&search=model&OP=filter and entered your model # off the plow and that piece does not exist. Just stick it on a shelf. Now that plow says its for a 300 series which means it'll fit a 400 series as well but not a 520 with the front swept axle. Mike......... Kelly 1,033 #5 Posted January 1, 2012 It will fit the 520 with the forward swept axle, BUT you will not be able to angle it all the way the blade will hit the front tires, MOST not all newer 48" blades have 5 positions for the blade angle, if it has all 5 holes, it may work in the first hole right or left, but I'm sure it will not in the farthest angled, at least not with out the plow completing kit for the 520 it moves the blade farther forward and it is a 3 piece kit, rear ext.bracket, center lift relocation mount, and a handle angled back to clear the PTO and so you can reach it. John Sullivan 24 #6 Posted January 1, 2012 Thanks everyone I will place the extra part on the shelf. Have everything I need to install with the exception of the solid link which I have ordered from a member of this group. Should receive it this week. Great group most informative. Thanks again John
refracman 167 #7 Posted January 1, 2012 That part is for the XT series. It attaches in the front attachmatic> If your willing to sell you might want to post it here, ( dont if we can do this but it is helping another WH guy out) http://www.wheelhorse.org/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=4890 Here is a pic of it installed
Sparky-(Admin) 23,147 #8 Posted January 1, 2012 Well I'll be damned, its to stop the frame from left and right swaying! I've never seen one in my 11 years of tinkering with WH's. Course I've never had an XT series. Mike..........
