Updated Pictures of 58/59 RJ

Recommended Posts

stevebo

Here are some updated pictures of the RJ I picked up before Christmas. I was unable to get the motor running as the carb was shot so with a 100% rebuilt Clinton from Charile sitting on the shelf I decided to transplant it on this one. I painted the rims and seat (still not happy with seat) and as soon as the tire paint comes in I will paint the tires. New front rims (thanks to Fireman), new exhaust pipe (muffler coming from ebay), pulled the fuel tank and cleaned it up then coated it with red cote fuel liner, new fuel line/filter, rear end drainned and re filled with new oil so she is ready to go...

All you need now is a reel mower to go with that belt guard. :hide:

Looks really good. I'm digging the black and red color scheme. Gonna do that to my RJ as well. Also gonna do the motor black and use hex head cap screws for all the external screws to give it a real industrial look.

I like it Steve. That is a nice trailer you have that on. Looks like it might be easier to work on the horse rather then when it is on the floor. That bending over and kneeling on the floor always gets me.

I've seen this tractor in person. It's probably one of the cleanest original (Minus the engine) RJ-58's (59') I've seen. The hood is near perfect.

I finally found a Kohler k91 for mine (I mean my son's) RJ59. Working on getting the rest of my crap organized and put away in the garage after we moved into our new place two years ago. Then it's time to spend some "intimate" :) moments with the horses! LOL

The original clinton engine I believe is a 498 replacement at some point. It has compression but carb was shot. I have no plans for it and if you are interested let me know.

@Charlie- you really do one hell of a nice job rebuilding those clintons! Not sure if one or 2 pulls on this one :)

Here is the finished product (less the muffler). I got the Miller's tire paint yesterday and gave the wheels 2 coats of the stuff. It really adds a nice finished touch.
