JONE00 0 #1 Posted December 26, 2011 I have a briggs model 243431, the engines they use in allis chalmers b10 simplicity landlord 101 and wards squire 10, before the engine quit running it would start and idle fine then i would have to have it choked to run then when i would try to give it gas it would just die out, could the problem be the valves not seating right or the cylinder is worn and need bored over? Sparky-(Admin) 23,216 #2 Posted December 26, 2011 I bet the carb just needs a good cleaning, or an overnight soak in a bucket of carb cleaner. Mike.........

Callen 64 #5 Posted December 27, 2011 Pull the shroud and clean the rust off the outer edge of the flywheel, clean the bottom of the mag legs and reset airgap between the mag and flywheel. Also check your kill wire for bare spots. Chester
