Cole 25 #1 Posted December 22, 2011 Hi guys, I am in the process of rebuilding my 10 hp Kohler k241s, and am replacing the bearings in the block for the crank, any ideas on how to press the bearings in.
TT-(Moderator) 1,162 #2 Posted December 22, 2011 One trick is to put the bearings in the freezer for a few hours and warm up the block or bearing plate with a heat gun or blow dryer. I normally just use a store-bought bearing installation tool (different size aluminum "discs" with a handle that is tapped on the end with a hammer) or a brass drift and tap evenly around the edge of the outer race until the bearing is seated.
