Docwheelhorse 2,740 #28 Posted January 30, 2012 Hi--I had a flywheel stuck on a Briggs and I mushroomed the end of the crank being an idiot with the two screwdrivers and a hammer method..... never got the flywheel off. I took it to my shop teacher in 8th grade and he said watch this..... he put his thumb on the mushroomed end of the crank and his fingers under the flywheel and gently pryed up, then he took a nylon hammer and whacked the flywheel SIDE in a location where the magnets where in no danger. POP.... came off in one second. I looked at him cross eyed and he said that sometimes you just have to set up a harmonic (vibration) through the flywheel sideways and that it loosens the grip on the crank.... I have used this method several times and it works. Might be worth a shot..... and good luck. Tony

hm12460 53 #31 Posted February 5, 2012 I got a puller that I made very similar to TT's. Works very well. Generally referred to as a poor mans gear puller.
