K321 question....

Well....I got the C-141 that I picked up this past week running today. The thing idles like a dream....sooooo smooth and quiet. My question is, when I rev it up, it stutters a bit and then holds at that RPM fine, UNTIL I put a load on the engine (in this case just moving the motion control lever forward and back) When I move the lever, the engine stutters.

Where should I start? I gapped the points, adjusted the governor. This motor has a walbro carb on it. I took it apart, cleaned it and put it back together.

Ideas???

sounds like a carb problem, ive had to clean the carb a few times when i get a new to me horse, they have usually been sitting around, does the throttle shaft have any play in it,they get worn there too,and sometimes its just a little adjustment on the carb high spped needle

I'm with Don, I'd be playing with the carb to see if I could make it run smoother. Does your Walbro have two mixture screws (main & low), or just the low? Either one of those could affect acceleration, try setting those both to the initial settings recommended in the manual and adjusting from there. There's an owner's manual in the Documents section here:

Other than that, is the rest of your fuel system in good shape? Fresh fuel, clean tank strainer, good fuel line, in-line filter, all that good stuff?

How about the spark plug and air cleaner?
