WH520 17 #4 Posted December 18, 2011 They do make a big difference. I got 2 12x12 sheets of this from Harbor Freight and cut them to 6" wide.

smoreau 658 #8 Posted December 18, 2011 Here is a link to one of our venders that sells new running board mats that look like the original ones at a good price. http://www.classickitchensandmore.com/wheel-horse-tractors-parts-c-42.html
rmaynard 16,363 #9 Posted December 18, 2011 Here is what I use. It is the original material that Wheel Horse used on many of their tractors. Unlike the Home Depot stuff, and some of the pads I have seen at shows, it is a true 1/8" rib. I stock the stuff in large rolls and just cut to size as I need it, and apply it with double-sided flooring tape.
Lane Ranger 11,439 #10 Posted December 18, 2011 Martin Told me he uses the tape the kids use on their skateboards which can be purchased in big rolls at a skateboard store!
Retired Wrencher 5,836 #11 Posted December 18, 2011 :USA: Hi Bob Nice job did u happen to buy it at Home Depot??? that is where I got mine it works well to keep your feet in place for sudden stops if needed. enjoy the tractor. rmaynard 16,363 #12 Posted December 18, 2011 My ribbed pad material is NOT from Home Depot. Their material is a smaller rib and the overall thickness is about 1/2 of mine. I get my material from a company the specializes in slip prevention products. The double-sided tape though is available at Home Depot and Lowe's and goes by the name Rhino-Grip. slufoot733 70 #13 Posted December 18, 2011 I found some nice think rubber foot pads at WalMart. They were about 4" x 16" and about 1/4" thick, with a diamond tread. There are two in a pack for about $8. One pack did one foot rest on my D200 so two packs did thye whole thing. They are self adhesive and stick really well. They were located near the automotive lighting products (tail lights, etc.) at my local Wally World.
TT-(Moderator) 1,162 #14 Posted December 18, 2011 Good source for the "sandpaper" style tape: http://www.antisliptapeshop.com/
DoctorHfuhruhurr 137 #15 Posted December 18, 2011 I've used the Wal-Mart diamond plate rubber with adhesive back mentioned previously. I've also used the 1/8" corrugated fine ribbed style sold by the foot from here www.rubbercal.com/Corrugated_Fine_Rib.html Both worked fine for me.

546cowboy 302 #17 Posted December 19, 2011 I have been using the skateboard stuff for a while now and it works great. It was a lot cheaper than some stuff I bought from an on-line store. The stuff from the on-line store was thicker but three times as much. It was made for commercial use on stairs and what have you.
