Can Anyone Identify This Tractor?

Recommended Posts

grnlark

In my travels, I came across this older Wheel Horse which is for sale. Based on these two pictures, is anyone able to determine exactly what model it is? Any idea on value? Supposedly it runs and mows but needs a "carb adjustment". The owner is looking for $500 OBO which in this economy I don't think is realistic. Thoughts?

654, the hood stand is pretty unique for that year.

I won't say on the value....it does look like a really solid & straight tractor & I think all Tecumseh's need a carb adjustment.

+1 both on it being a 654 and the carb adjustment. Wouldn't be worth anywhere near $500 to me... but it does look like a pretty nice original.

Thanks guys! I'm not sure he's willing to budge on the price and I'm not crazy about the Techy either...

So,,,the Tecumseh engine the deciding factor that is diminishing the value of this tractor? :scratchead: What is a fair price as it sits now?

I love round Hoods and I love the "Patina" on that one...I would give that for it, even with the Tec...lol

Around here Round Hoods are hard to find, they are completely Rusted when you do...or they are original paint and they want $1500 for them or more!

Craig Tuckies really don't hurt the value, especially if there correct for the tractor & still running.

The carb settings can be tempermental on them mostly if they have been sitting.

You see a lot of Tucky powered stuff advertised as needs carb adjusted.

I'm gettin a FREE old Troy-built tiller with a Tecky. I'm sure large hammers will be needed to get it running. At least it's free! Me and Teckys get along like water and oil!
