Got these goodies tonight. The tag on the deck dates it to 80-83 and the tag on the tiller dates it to 84. BUT.....what year is the tractor, I can't find a tag ANYWHERE!!!!!!!!!!! I took a pic of the motor ID tag, but as I look at my Wheel Horse model number sheet, I don't see a C-141 (made only in 78 and 79) with this spec number.

What do you guys think???

The tractor is pretty straight, the tiller is in EXCELLENT condition and the deck is in very good shape as well.

It's been a while since I bought a tractor, can't wait to get her going!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I wonder if it's a replacement motor due to the slight paint color difference compared to the body.

I'm thinking the paint difference (on the PTO side anyway) is just where grease/dirt was and the sun/elements never got a chance to fade it....IDK :eusa-think:

Now that I investigated a bit more, I wonder if the model number spread sheet has a typo....PartsTree doesn't even list a spec number of 30322.....it has spec numbers in that start with 1xxxxx and then jumps right to 6xxxxx

So maybe the model number sheet should read spec no. 60322d instead of 30322d.

The engine is for sure a 1978, I have to ask the stupid question first, my 77 B-100 the data plate is on the side. but on my commando8 it is tucked up under the dash but on the front of the console. I assume you looked under there, just in case. I dont think it is under there, probablly just missing, I will keep looking for info also, maybe between us all, we will get you some info.

spec # 30 would be a kohler k181...

I will shut up now and let some one that knows what they are talking about talk...lol

Engine is a 1978 according to the serial number. 1979 C-141 used that spec and model.

Look for the ID tag, on the dash tower down by the steering gears, facing the engine, and by the pics it is a 78 or 79 machine, and by the way looks like a nice haul.

There does seem to be an issue on the Spec sheet for the C141...it lists a spec for a 16 HP on the 1978...

Does anyone know the correct# for the 1978 model?

EXACTLY where you said it would be Kelly!!! Thank-You!!!!!!!!!!!

81-14KS01........1978

But according to the model list.................I'm just gonna say I think the model list might have an error :eusa-think:

I was messing with this thing tonight...took the carb of to clean/inspect it and noticed it has a Walbro on it. Never had a Walbro before...are the any good? I also think the wiring might need some attention also, but we'll see.

Anyway, what's the scoop on the Walbro???

I had a 1979 model that looked identical to yours... My engine also looked newer than the tractor.

Mine did not have an inline gas filter , and the carb bowl was full of sand.

I cleaned the carb, and adjusted. Put in an inline filter and it ran great.

The brake pedel must be pushed in to start unless the safety switch has been by passed.

Pushed snow with it all last winter, then sold it to a Red Square member back in the spring, do miss it now.

My engine also looked newer than the tractor.

The engines were painted by the engine manufacturers, who - unlike Wheel Horse - knew the three P's: prep, prime, & paint :handgestures-thumbup:

:USA: :wh: Shubbox/L Thanks I only use this to plow snow it is big and heavy with lots of power. But it takes up a lot of room,I may sell it some day as is and buy a 14hp snow blower. I hope u have good luck with your C141. I would go thru all fluids check every nut and bolt like I did. Take Gary B......... This pick here was last year 3' storm it did well. Roxi1-11025.jpg
