Riley088 63 #1 Posted December 11, 2011 Sitting on the tractor with the wheels straight is there a certain side I punch the roll pin through or does it not matter? Thanks R
Kelly 1,033 #2 Posted December 11, 2011 no what ever side is easy to get to, it is a straight hole, with the old metal center wheels I use heat if it does not come right out.

Riley088 63 #4 Posted December 11, 2011 After using some heat on the roll pin any suggestions on taking off the steering wheel with out destroying it?
Kelly 1,033 #5 Posted December 11, 2011 A 3 arm puller and heat, or drill the shaft out till it comes out of the wheel, the shaft is just 3/4" bar stock with a roll pin hole on both ends.
VinsRJ 723 #6 Posted December 13, 2011 One thing I like to do, if replacing the steering shaft is required, is to drill the roll pin hole in such a position that the steering wheel spokes are at the 2, 6 and 10 o'clock positions with the front wheel pointing staight. it always looked wierd to me with the spokes in any other position. clintonnut 126 #7 Posted December 14, 2011 Cut the shaft off, put on the drill press and drill away just dont go all the way through. Start with a 1/4" bit and work up from there. You will know when you hit the bottom of the hole as there will be a gap between the shaft and the steering wheel. Try to get the roll pin out first.
