6wheeler 669 #1 Posted December 6, 2011 Hi guys, I have a couple of questions. Does anyone have a picture of a D-250 less the engine? Or maybe know the length of the engine compartment? I need the length from the dash tower to the radiator. I have a project in mind and I have an engine and hydro but it needs to be an inline because the hydro drives off of the rear of the engine. The transaxle will be replaced with wheelmotors. Crazy? Yes. Or I will just build a frame but I think a D-250 chassis would work and look cool. Then the hunt will be on for the monster. baerpath 517 #2 Posted December 6, 2011 I've seen one that the rear was replaced by a Cub Super rear. I can get some measurements when I get home. Thinking of dropping a 2.2 Cat in one of mine. Duane
6wheeler 669 #3 Posted December 7, 2011 Thanks Duane. The engine I will be using is a 3cyl. Dihatsu diesel. I measured it for a 165 parts tractor I know of, but it might look a little strange with a radiator hanging out the left side and a 60 pound hydro hanging out from the right. Not saying I won't try it mind you. But it may look stange being wider than it is long Pat
shallowwatersailor 3,214 #4 Posted December 10, 2011 You might "Google" the Gutbrod D2500 which is the Wheel Horse D-250. They were made by Gutbrod for Wheel Horse, I believe.
