besides the engine is there any difference in the 1975 c-120 with a kohler and a 1975 c-120 special with a techy (ssi ignition).

If you check the parts cross-reference, the wiring harness is the same as for the Kohler C-120's. I didn't check all the other parts. I'll leave that to you.

I beg to differ.......

Model 1-0357 Wiring Harness-104075 Regulator-Rectifier (10 Amp)-104075 Ignition Switch-103991

Model 1-0375 Wiring Harness-104704 Regulator-Rectifier (20 Amp)-104816 Ignition Switch-103991

Model 1-0395 Wiring Harness-104703 Regulator-Rectifier (15 Amp)-101450 Ignition Switch-103990

Model 1-0396 Wiring Harness-104703 Regulator-Rectifier (15 Amp)-101450 Ignition Switch-103990

Kohlers are battery ignition & the Tecumsehs have SSI (ground the coil to kill the spark)

If you know what you're doing, you can change the ignition switch and "move a few wires around" so you don't have to replace the entire harness.

Pardon my ignorance again. :bow-blue: First glance at the parts list on SEPW for all four models showed the 104703 wiring harness, I looked no further.

it has a techy motor in it and i don't like or trust those motors.

after finding a 12hp kohler and rewiring i'd have too much money in it.

I saw a C-160 with a techy in it and the engine was taller than a kohler. To accommodate it there was a taller mount at the front hood hinge and apparently the steering stand was higher also. Looked cool so I tried to use the front hood mounts on my C-160 to raise it but the hood would not fit correctly at the steering stand. Bummer!!
