early 520's, illuminated gauges???

Guys, my father in law just bought himself a clean 88/89 520-H out of PA. Did the gauges on these illumnate? I had one I do not remember. If so his gauges work, but they do not illuminate. It is an early 520 w/o swept axle.

i got a 1996 and they lite up so im thinking the ninetys did since most of the early ninetys have same dash

I think it started in 90....maybe 91 though???

I'm going to guess when they changed the dash and moved the DCL to the dash they also lit the gauges, my 92/93 light up.

Those little bulbs in the back of the gauges blow easy...

I think it started in 1990 models. My 1996 model had one that worked when I got it, just replaced the bulbs, also it a fuse is bad none of the gauges will work.

The light switch is on a seperate circuit, it is almost always the switch that goes bad.
