Hydraulic blade angle on a workhorse gt1848

Recommended Posts

Sorry I know this has been answered before because I remember reading the thread but can't find it now.

I have an 83 or 84 gt1848 workhorse tractor. Hydro with hydraulic lift. I bought a wheelhorse snowblade for it that had some other tractors mount on it. I got it for $40 and since I have a bunch of scrap laying around I'm making a mount to attach it to the rear attach point on the axle. I'll also make a bracket to lift the blade. Since this is a homemade mount I need to be able to angle the blade from the seat. I know there is a way to use the tractors hydro to do this, but I'm not really sure how. Can I just add a different control valve (4 way instead of 2 way?) I won't be lifting and angling at the same time since I don't have enough hands so in reality I should just be able to add a different valve, but again I don't really know hydraulics all that well

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Chris

Thank you for the link to the thread on your build. I have a line on a used DA cylinder and hoses. I just need to come up with an affordable control valve and plumb it all up. I'm about half way through making the frame, hopefully I'll finish up tomorrow night and I'll post pictures when done. This is a quick and dirty job as I need to get it ready.
