Hi Guy's

I have A D160 with a 48 inch snow thrower, last winter my chain kept flying off :dunno: , so just replaced the 2 sprockets

and chain on this snow thrower, , Its still throwing the chain off when Im in the snow, :help: It was light snow today as well,

Anyone have any idea on what I should do now? :wh:

Thank Ginge

i dont have a 48 inch from a d but my smaller one was doing that so i had to align the idlers and drive puley, and the drive was basically welded from rust, had to cut it off and put a new one on,and that meant bearings also, once i did aevery thing it doesnt jump off,but check the tension on the chain first could need another link removed

Have you adjusted the tensioner bolt on the frame of the blower housing? I'm sure you have but the chain can get sloppy quickly.

Good luck,

If it is only doing it under load than it would seem something is moving once a load is put on the chain. Did you check the auger shaft for wear and all bearings?

Since you replaced the sprockets already I would check for slight misalignment where they are mounted. I don't have my blower at my home and can't recall if the chain is exposed enough to be able to use a timing light to check for wobble. It can be helpful.

Sorry I can't be more helpful, I know the frustration you are feeling, been there. Good luck.

another thing it could be is a worn main sprocket on the auger,do you have the gaurd on in front of the chain
